WebBridge is a linking tool developed by III that uses Open URL standards to provide dynamic, context-sensitive linking across web resources. With WebBridge, users can link from a citation in one commercial index to full-text articles in another source, or from bibliographic records in the catalog to indexes and full-text resources at remote vendor sites. This workshop will include a detailed description of WebBridge and the problems it is intended to solve, along with information about how to install, configure, and implement WebBridge on a Millennium system. WebBridge coverage files (the knowledge base for WebBridge) will also be discussed.
Presenters: Robert Bland (UNC Asheville) and Catherine Wilkinson (Appalachian State).
The cost is $35, which includes both breakfast and lunch; parking is free.
Breakfast will begin at 9:00 a.m. Registration is limited to 50 individuals.
Deadline for registration is September 17th. If you have definitive plans to attend, but cannot provide payment by the 21st, please communicate your intentions by filling out the registration form and emailing to Jeff Campbell (jcampbell@unc.edu).
